Oh the joys of winter
Yesterday we had what some would call a blizzard (and by some, I mean the National Weather Service). It didn’t snow much, but it rained a whole heck of a lot (which froze) and the wind blew somewhere around 40-50 mph which caused a lot of power failures in the area. My parents' power went out around 3:00 PM yesterday and ours went out around 6:00 PM. Thankfully, our power came back in the middle of the night.
Pretty much everything has been closed for the past two days (and everything is closed today too… even church). I went out this morning to start the car and there was a ¼" layer of ice covering it. In attempting to scrape it off, I actually broke the ice scraper. No wonder the power lines were going down.
